About ChocoLit

ChocoLit Sauces are 100% nontraditional Homemade BBQ sauces, spreads, and dry rubs. It’s humble start began in Worcester, MA and has made its way down to its new home in the DMV. Every jar is made to order and packaged with love. ChocoLit will be celebrating its fifth year of business this year, 2022!

The Creation Story 

One Sunday summer morning in 2017, I made a blueberry syrup for crepes. That night, I planned to put some burgers, steaks, and lobsters on the grill. If you know me, you would know I don’t barbecue without BBQ sauce - which I didn’t have that night. So being the frugal foodie I am, I used the blueberry syrup from brunch and some organic ketchup as a base to create the very first ChocoLit Sauce recipe: Bonfire Blueberry Bbq Sauce.

Meet the Sauceror

Born & raised in Worcester, Massachusetts - a very diverse city, it’s no surprise I’m a huge foodie with a nontraditional palette. My love for the kitchen comes from an inspiring line of single moms and amazing Black & Brown women cooking up comfort food on a daily basis. It was natural for me to navigate to the kitchen! Feeding people and bringing loved ones & strangers alike together with a meal to be shared is the goal. Condiments and sauces are “the icing on the cake” in my savory world and are often necessary at mealtime. Barbecue sauce is my favorite condiment and ChocoLit is my gift back to the people. I hope that ChocoLit Sauces become a part of your table memories and help keep your kitchen traditions lit.
